The Body Shop Haul

I'm a sucker for The Body Shop, through and through. They release a new product, I'm lapping up every single review and photo I can. They send me a discount code and I'm using it as soon as humanly possible, and it's a discount code that led me to buy a whole bunch of new bits and bobs recently. Not only did I pick up some new things to try out, I also bought a bunch of mine and J's staples - we swear by a lot of TBS products and constantly need to top up our stash, so purchasing our faves was at the top of my list. But before I tell you about the staples I picked up, let me talk about the new things we're trying.

First of all, I knew 100% that I wanted to buy the Amazonian Saviour Multi-Purpose Balm. I've read that this is amazing for tattoos and J has a tattoo that he wants to preserve (I say he wants to, I kind of want to look after it more because I designed it and paid for it), so it seemed like the perfect little treat to buy for him. Once we've used it a bit more, no doubt I'll put up a full review, but right now, I'll say that I was surprised at how tiny the pot was when it arrived, considering it was £9. BUT you only need a tiny amount, so it will last a good while - plus, £1.30 from each sale goes to The Body Shop's Bio-Bridge Programme that helps to connect lands and create sustainable communities, so it's worth it!

Something else I was really interested in picking up was a Beautifying Oil and I could have sworn that there was an Argan one last time I looked, but I couldn't find it anywhere on the site. So in the end, I went for the Moringa Beautifying Oil, as I absolutely love the scent of TBS's moringa line. It can be used on hair and skin, but I think I'll be using it mainly on my elbows and legs. I'm quite rubbish at moisturising, partly because I kind of don't like the feeling of moisturiser getting under my nails, so I'm hoping that this oil will help me get into the routine. J also loves the moringa line, so I think he might give this a go on his beard.
Next up, I picked something that I was stupidly excited to receive - the Fuji Green Tea Cleansing Hair Scrub. I had never heard of a hair scrub and the fact that it had the green tea scent just sold this product to me. I think this might be another one that gets a full review post, but I've had a go and I'm thoroughly impressed. It feels a bit weird to use - putting scrub in your hair is surreal - but the results once it's washed out and dried are phenomenal. Keep your eyes peeled for a post - it definitely deserves one! Again, this is another product that it pretty pricey and you can't help but think that you don't get a lot of product, but I've found that you only need a tiny amount.

The last new product I bought was the Banana Truly Nourishing Hair Mask. It's no secret that I have dry and frizzy hair, so I need all the help I can get. The reviews for this mask were fab, so I had to buy it and try it out for myself. I'd be really interested to see how this pairs up with the scrub, actually, to see if I get super clean, sleek and healthy-feeling hair. Also, you just go wrong with the smell of banana, can you? I've given this stuff a sniff and it smells good enough to eat!
Alright, so on to the products that we really "needed." The first is the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser - my holy grail cleanser. Not only does this stuff do wonders for my skin with it's tea tree oil, it also removes absolutely all traces of makeup. Because the liquid foams up through the pump, you don't end up using more than you need, which is a bit of a problem I have with products. I use a sponge with 3 pumps of this on and it takes off everything, even eye makeup (although, if you've got sensitive eyes, I don't recommend putting this near them. It doesn't half hurt if it goes in), so I always like to keep at least two to hand, seeing as though I use it so much.

I'm sure J won't mind me saying this but up until a few years ago, he suffered from very bad dandruff and an itchy scalp. He used medicated shampoos, but found that nothing worked for him until he discovered TBS's Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. He's sworn by it for years now and it's totally cleared up his dandruff problem, so if that's something you need help with, you should definitely try this out! You get so much for your money, and while it's on the pricier end of the shampoo spectrum, it is so so worth it. It smells delicious too!

Last, but certainly not least, is my favourite of all moisturisers, the Seaweed Oil Control Gel Cream. I remember that I first discovered this through having a free makeover in my local TBS and the lovely lady applied this before any makeup. She claimed that it would moisturise my normal or dry areas whilst obliterating any oily areas, and do you know what? It does exactly that! Not only do I love to use it daily as a cream, but I love using it under makeup for a perfect base. It's pretty much scent free and is super lightweight, so it soaks in ridiculously quickly. It's absolutely everything I want in a moisturiser!

Normally, if I buy this amount of things from anywhere, I feel a little bit guilty, but because The Body Shop sent me and all of their other email subscribers a 40% discount code, I don't feel all that bad. Thank you, The Body Shop angels! If you have any recommendations of products I should try out, please let me know. I'm always keen to try out new things, so fire away!
