5 Punky Pins Black Friday Purchases

When I was younger, I was the type of person to be totally against Black Friday. I'd say 'it's an American tradition that's only about making money,' which is still totally true, plus I've always been massively confused about how this shopping scheme comes right after Thanksgiving, the day where you're supposed to be thankful for what you have. Anyway, those thoughts aside, now that I'm older, I see what everyone else sees - hello, Christmas shopping! I did get a little bit of Christmas shopping done when this year's Black Friday came around, but I also decided to treat myself a little. The one thing that I've been lusting over for goodness knows how long but never been able to justify buying is pins, and Black Friday was finally my time to get some.

The one shop that has featured in both of my patches 'n' pins wishlists is Punky Pins. I've loved this company for years and I remember when my friend told me about it after her auntie set it up. I went straight on to the website and ordered a bright pink pencil necklace with my name written on (any veteran Punky Pins fans remember those?) and wore it constantly. Now though, I'm all about their pins. They've got something for absolutely everyone and you can see all the categories in a drop-down menu on the site, so if you love books, cats, crafts, feminism and anything else you can think of, there'll be a pin for you!

Anyway, enough waffling on, let me tell you about the five pins I picked up. The first one I went for was the Grab Them By The Patriarchy pin. I'm kind of shocked at how often I have to explain this pin, but if you don't understand what it means, it's a reference to Donald Trump's "grab them by the pu**y." I feel so sassy and bad ass when I wear it, and it's quickly become my favourite one to wear. It looks especially cute on my black dungarees, which you can see in my previous post!

Next up is the Crafty Bitch pin. Oh my gosh, I love this pin so so much. I love the play on words - am I a crafty bitch because I love to make things or because I'm super sly and you don't see me coming? WHO KNOWS. It's such a simple little pin and I love the light blue background against the hand and scissors illustration. This is a cool pin to pair up with the Grab Them By The Patriarchy pin because they're both so girl power-y.

On the same wavelength, I picked up the Resting Stitch Face pin. Now, if you've read my second patches 'n' pins wishlist, you'll know that this was the first pin to be featured, and it's finally mine! I'm completely obsessed with it. Not only do I love to cross stitch, but I also have a bit of a resting bitch face, so this is just me in a pin. Seriously, I get asked if I'm alright all the time because my face is so moody, but it's because I'm off inside my brain thinking about crafting! I actually haven't worn this pin yet because I'm so frightened of losing it, but it's definitely one of my favourites from this haul.
The next pin I picked up was this adorable Bubble Bubble, Toil 'n' Trouble pin. I couldn't find a link to this baby on the site, but it was part of the Halloween collection, so it might've been taken down now. Sorry! Anyway, as you can see, it features a cute little witch lounging in her bubble bath, being a total queen. Not only did I buy this because she's so bloomin' sweet, but also because I've always said that if I was to be in a story, I would want to be a witch. I've always had such a fascination about witch culture, both fictional and non-fictional, so I thought I could show that through this little cutie. There was also a dark version of this pin with a black bath, but I loved the pastel shades on this one.

And last, but certainly not least is the Feed Me Cake pin. Come on, would it even be me if I hadn't bought something cake-related? This pin features a slice of cake with yummy pink icing, strawberries and a gold glitter banner. It's absolutely gorgeous and it's another that I haven't worn yet, purely because I'm worried about losing it. I don't think I need to explain it really - I love making cake and I love eating cake, simple as!

If you haven't checked out Punky Pins yet, you need to! They're a fab bunch of people and I'm not just saying that because they're local. The things they make are great and really high quality, so you should definitely take a look.
