Mini ColourPop Haul + Swatches #2

11 Oct 2016

Guys, I've done it again. I was tempted into spending a little money, and it's all thanks to the ColourPop team. But when you get sent an email that tells you about $4.99 flat rate shipping on orders under $25, you just can't skip out, right? There was also free worldwide shipping on orders over $50, but I just couldn't bring myself to do. I would definitely be tempted after Christmas, if ColourPop decided to do anything like that again... anyway, as you can see, I treated myself to four new bits; three eyeshadows and a creme gel colour. As we're well and truly into autumn, I decided to go for fall-esque colours, and let me tell you now, I am head over heels!
And here are the little beauties! They just scream autumn, don't they? As I talked about in my first ColourPop haul, I had to pay for customs again. However, I actually didn't mind too much this time around, due to the cheap postage on this order. All together, including customs, this little purchase came to roughly £30, which is about £7.50 per product. Considering the quality of these little guys, I have no problem with that in the slightest, and plus, we all like to treat ourselves now and again! I would still love to know if anyone has any tricks to getting these American products over at a cheaper price though, because if my obsession with this brand continues, I may empty the bank.

There have been a lot of new releases on ColourPop recently, like their gorgeous, glittery highlights and the Studio 1400 eyeshadow collection, but it was the Fall Edit I was particularly interested in. As someone that usually opts for warm neutrals on their eyes, I thought that this would be right up my street. And I wasn't wrong! I picked out two of the shadows from that section, and then chose another from the general eyeshadow section to complement them. I'd then remembered that I'd seen Grav3yardgirl talking about a certain eyeliner from the brand, and I just knew that I had to give it a go! Let's get into a bit more detail and look at those swatches shall we?
On the left, we have Paradox, which is a striking, matte red shade. I'll be honest with you, on the site, this shadow looks a lot more blue toned, resulting in a deep burgundy, but this is definitely like blood red. I'm looking forward to using it though, and seeing what I can create from it. Next up is Mittens, which is just absolutely stunning. It's a warm, matte brown with a slightly red undertone, and I'm just in love with it. Not only do I love it's gorgeous colour, but 'Mittens' is one of my favourite Frank Turner songs, so I just had to get it. Last, but certainly not least, is Stereo, and isn't it just a beauty? I actually got Mittens because I thought it would work amazingly with Stereo, which is another red toned brown, with a metallic finish, and a good dose of pink and copper duo chrome glitter. It really is beautiful, and I'm so so excited to get it on my lids.

The things that people say about ColourPop eyeshadows are 100% true. They have such an interesting texture, but in a seriously good way. They are so smooth and buttery, but they have a slight bounce. It's difficult to explain, but if you ever come across one, do swipe your finger through and you'll see exactly what I mean. They also have incredible staying power and amazing colour pay off, so for $5 each, you really can't go wrong.
The final product I bought was a creme gel colour in Best O. As I mentioned, it was Grav3yardgirl that inspired me to buy this, as she raves about it, and it looks darn fabulous on her. Just look at it though. Take that colour in for just a minute. It's a stunning plummy brown shade, and I used the Real Techniques eyeliner brush from the Nic's Picks set to apply it. It's just so beautiful, and I can't wait to try it out on my eyes. I think it would look great smudged out on the waterline, or as a statement flick. I also think it would look incredible with brown eyes!

I have never tried one of the creme gel pots, but I was pleasantly surprised. I lovelovelove the gel liner pencil in Swerve that I purchased from ColourPop, so I really wanted to have a go at a potted version. As I swiped the brush through the product, it felt super creamy, and it glided across my hand like a dream. It was smooth and didn't tug at all. In no time at all, it dried down and just wouldn't budge. Even as I type this, I stop to rub the liner and it still won't move! That is some amazing staying power if you ask me. I haven't tried, but I'm assuming because it dries so quickly, you could easily build up the colour for an intense plum colour. If you're looking for something a bit different to a usual black liner, I definitely recommend this guy!

I'm super pleased with this little haul, and I'm already building a mental list of products that I want to buy from ColourPop next time. I can't wait to see what they release around Christmas! I so wish that I like wearing things on my lips, because so many people rave about their lip products, but my lips dry out and crack so easily that nothing ever looks good. But as far as there eye products go, I can say that I am a huge huge fan. Please bring it to the UK, ColourPop!
