My Holy Grail Eyeliner - Soap & Glory's Supercat

I'm a very picky person. I'll hold my hands up and be the first to admit it - but surely that's not such a bad thing? It means I know what I like and I'm willing to try new things until I find something that fits the bill (although the latter isn't great for my bank balance). Because of this, I actually don't have that many holy grail products. I'm always in awe when a YouTuber or blogger publishes content with a holy grail product for each part of the face! That being said, I do have one holy grail product that has stuck with me for years, and that's the almighty Supercat eyeliner by Soap & Glory.

I am a cat flick person and have been for as long as I can remember. Thanks to all the experimenting with makeup as a 14 year old wannabe emo, I think I've got the flicks down. Whenever I do a full face of makeup, I just don't feel complete unless I have my flicks, and Supercat helps me get them just right. I mean, the clue is in the name - Supercat.
The design of the liner feels classy, as it's plain black with 'Supercat' in the S&G signature pink shade and metallic gold. It feels understated and slightly higher end. It's fairly long, so you're able to get a good grip when you're drawing on your flicks, and the lid is easy to remove, meaning you won't end up with inky black hands.
This is a felt tip liner, so the bit that you use to draw on your eyes is quite solid, whereas with some gels or dippy-pot liquid eyeliners, the tips are soft. I much prefer to have a solid liner, as I find it easier to control. But don't be put off be the fact that this isn't a soft liner - it doesn't drag or pull on your eyelids at all, thanks to the amount of product it deposits. Seriously, you only have to gently touch this to your lid for it to leave product behind and it simply glides across the skin! And what makes it even better is that the product is black - like, I'm not talking about watery, murky grey. It is super jet black and dries quickly to a gorgeous matte. Another selling point is its versatility. As the tip is tapered into a fine point, you can create a more subtle look or you can beef it up for a more dramatic look. There are days where I'm like "oh, just a small flick will do," and the liner can do that for me, and there are other days where I just want to go a bit more Amy Winehouse with it, and the liner can do that too.
Last but not least, this liner lasts all day and I really mean that! As it mattes down so quickly, it doesn't bleed or ruin any eyeshadow that you might be wearing, and stays that way all day long. Even with my combination skin, my eyeliner still looks freshly applied after a whole day of work and it's all thanks to this guy!
I'm definitely not slating Kat Von D, but this eyeliner is miles better than the Tattoo Liner in my opinion. I'm not sure if I got a duff one, but it wasn't black enough and dried out SO quickly! I'd definitely give it another go because the cult following says it's amazing and I really want to love it, but for now (and for the foreseeable future), Supercat is bae.

Supercat is available from Boots at the unbelievable price of £6! If you're into a more bold or dramatic look, you could try out the Supercat Fat, which has a much thicker tip, or there's the Supercat Skinny, which is ideal for a more delicate approach.
