6 Places for Pumpkin Picking in Teesside 2026

Pumpkin season is here, and there’s no better way to embrace autumn than by heading out to pick your own! Whether you’re after the perfect pumpkin for carving, cooking, or simply snapping some Instagram-worthy pics, Teesside has a range of great spots to visit in 2026.

From family-friendly farms to hidden gems with countryside charm, I’ve rounded up six of the best places in and around Teesside to get your pumpkin picking fix this October. So grab your wellies, wrap up warm, and let’s go pumpkin picking!

Cherry Hill Garden Centre, Hemlington

When: Selected dates between 3rd-31st October 2026

Where: Cherry Hill Garden Centre, Stokesley Road, Hemlington, Middlesbrough, TS8 9DY

Cost: £4.95 per person (ages 4+), £16.95 for families (covers 2 adults + 2 children OR 1 adult + 3 children; under 4s go free), plus choice of pumpkins – £4–£10 depending on size.

Head along to Cherry Hill Garden Centre for some autumn fun and pick your own pumpkins! Included in your ticket price is entry to the pumpkin patch, plus outdoor activities for the little ones to enjoy, photo opportunities and a designated pumpkin carving area* should you wish to carve your pumpkin on site.

*Due to the nature of pumpkin carving, carving kits will be available to purchase for an additional cost, however children must be supervised by accompanying adults whilst carving. Carving kits will not be available to purchase by anyone aged under 16 years. 

Newham Grange Farm, Middlesbrough

When: Between 17th-18th and 24th-31st October 2026

Where: Newham Grange Farm, Wykeham Way, Middlesbrough, TS8 0TG

Cost: Standard admission ticket, plus £3.75 per pumpkin

Gather your mini ghosts and ghouls and head down to Newham Grange Farm’s popular pumpkin patch between 17th-18th and 24th-31st October. There’s small and medium sized pumpkins available, which are perfect for little hands. Pumpkins are priced at £3.75 each and are subject to availability. Don’t miss the carving sessions in the Discovery Barn too!

The whole farm will have a frightfully fun transformation, take a wander and spot all of the spooky sights. Don’t forget to say hello to our furry friends and treat them a tasty feed bag.

Tweddle Farm, Hartlepool

When: 10th–11th, 17th–18th, 24th–25th and 26th–31st October 2026

Where: Filipoke Lane, Blackhall Colliery, Hartlepool TS27 4BT

Cost: £11.95 per adult, £10.95 per child, £9.95 per concession, £42 for families (2 adults + 2 children OR 1 adult + 3 children), plus choice of pumpkins, which are priced upon checkout at the farm.

Join Tweddle Farm at one of the North East’s most loved pumpkin patches! Filled with garden games, face painting, funfair rides, photo opportunities and more. Our patch is bursting with all kinds of shapes, colours and sizes! Choose your favourite to take home and carve.

Ticket includes admission to the rest of the farm, so you can enjoy the animals and play spaces too.

Darlington Market

When: 29th and 31st October 2026

Where: Horsemarket, Darlington, DL1 5PN

Cost: £5 per child (an accompanying adult is free), which includes your very own pumpkin, plus all the carving tools and essentials

Join Darlington Market from 10am-12pm for a fun-filled pumpkin picking and carving session! Tickets are just £5 per child (accompanying adults go free) and include your very own pumpkin, plus all the carving tools and essentials you’ll need to create the perfect Halloween masterpiece. Whether you’re aiming for spooky or silly, it’s the perfect family activity to get into the Halloween spirit!

Pontac Farms, New Marske

When: 17th and 18th, 24th-30th October 2026

Where: Pontac Farm, New Marske, Redcar, TS11 8LD

Cost: £12 per car (£10 of the ticket is redeemable against your pumpkins), plus choice of pumpkins, which are priced upon checkout at the farm.

Tucked beneath the edge of Errington Woods, Pontac Farm is a third-generation family farm that’s been delighting pumpkin pickers since 2016. With sweeping views stretching out towards the coast, it’s the perfect autumn escape for families, couples, school trips, and groups looking for a wholesome countryside adventure.

But this isn’t just about pumpkins – Pontac is a fully working arable and livestock farm, so you’ll get a real slice of rural life as you wander the fields in search of your perfect pumpkin. Open 17th and 18th, and 24th to 30th October, the farm comes alive with seasonal charm, friendly faces, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Don’t forget your boots and your camera because this is pumpkin picking at its most picturesque.

Baydale Farm, Darlington

When: Selected dates between 3rd-31st October 2026

Where: Baydale Farm, Coniscliffe Road, Darlington, DL3 8TA

Cost: No entry fee and no booking required, just pay for the pumpkins you pick.

Baydale Farm is a firm favourite for families in Darlington. They offer 12 different varieties of pumpkins and squashes, from traditional orange Racers, to the tiny cute white Casperitas and super tasty Crown Prince winter squashes. With no entry fee, it’s a fabulous and affordable option for picking your own.

Make sure you look out for their pumpkin picking evening events too. There’s Dusk to Darkness where you can pick as the sun goes down for the ultimate spooky vibe, and their Pumpkin & Pizza evenings for a super tasty event option.
