If you’re not in the Christmas spirit yet, I know If you’re not in the Christmas spirit yet, I know just the place to take you! 🎄 [ad - gifted]

@stricklandandholt in Yarm is THE place to be for a festive day out, and their Christmas shop is well and truly in full swing.

But before you get carried away with the shopping, I’d definitely recommend heading to the café for brunch.

There’s plenty to choose from, but my recommendation is the breakfast sharing platter. The current one comes with waffles, bacon and maple syrup, French toast with berries and chocolate sauce, and toasted apple crumble loaf with caramel sauce. It truly is every bit as good as it sounds!

They’ve also got some gorgeous winter drinks, including an orange hot chocolate and gingerbread latte. Basically, Christmas in a cup!

Then it’s time to hit the shop, and trust me, you could be in here for HOURS! There’s decorations, gifts, cards, wrapping paper and so much more. You’ll spot something new on every lap 😍

Whether you’re all about the colour and sparkle, or prefer something a little more traditional and muted, there’s something for every kind of Christmas.

This shop has been here since well before any of us were born… 1854 to be precise, but visiting at this time of year makes me feel so nostalgic and brings back memories of visiting as a kid. Now that’s the real spirit of Christmas!

So, if you fancy a little festive magic, pop into Strickland & Holt in Yarm and follow me for more local recommendations 🎅🏻

I’m not a sporty person AT ALL, but I think I’ve a I’m not a sporty person AT ALL, but I think I’ve accidentally found my new favourite hobby 🎾 [ad - gifted]

I haven’t played a sport since school, but every time we’ve been into @padelupteesside, I’ve always fancied giving it a go. And now that I have… I’m a little bit in love!

There are eight indoor courts, it’s really easy to book, and prices start from just £10 for half an hour or £20 for an hour. If you’re a newbie like me, racket hire is available for just £4 per person too (you do need to bring your own balls though or you can buy a tube of three at the desk for £7.50).

We had such a fantastic time! We watched a few videos beforehand, but as it was our first go, we just got stuck in and didn’t even bother keeping score. We had such a laugh and it was great to have a run about and try something new.

Although, now we’re already planning regular visits, I can see things getting VERY competitive!

And a little visit to @hobocoffeehouse is the perfect way to end a session! You can watch the courts while enjoying their amazing breakfast, brunch and lunch menu.

My go-to is the OG granola, but how good does the breakfast burrito look? The cakes and coffee are out of this world too, so make sure you add a little something to your order.

So if you’ve been waiting for a sign to try something new, this is it. Head to Padel Up Teesside and get yourself booked in. You might just find your new favourite hobby!

The fantastic @lotusloungeyarm are BACK in Yarm an The fantastic @lotusloungeyarm are BACK in Yarm and it absolutely needs to be on your list 🥢 [ad - gifted]

I’d only ever heard good things about Lotus Lounge, so I was really excited to go along to the brand new venue, and WOW, we were so blown away. Think dark, intimate vibes, cocktails, and incredible attention to detail, all centred around Pan-Asian food.

Here’s what we had:

- Mixed prawn crackers with satay, sweet chilli and spicy plum dips. I was OBSESSED with the satay dip!

- Tempura black tiger prawns with kewpie mayo and sweet chilli - these were perfectly crisp on the outside with juicy prawn inside.

- Pork belly slices with pad krapow dipping sauce - just stunning. The pork was so tender with a crisp top and it went down a total treat.

- Spicy tuna sushi roll - sushi is only served on Fridays and Saturdays, and it’s definitely worth booking one of those days just to try it! This roll was amazing and I loved the little kick.

- Beef short rib with charred hispi cabbage, roast sesame sweet potato and gochujang romesco - no word of a lie, this is one of the best things I’ve eaten this year. Just melt in the mouth deliciousness.

- Khao ka moo (slow braised belly pork with steamed rice, pickled mustard greens and carrot puree) - this was recommended to us and it was gorgeous. There was plenty of meat and the carrot puree added a hint of sweetness.

- Mango cheesecake with sesame seeds and dark chocolate - a lush way to round off the meal!

This is such an exciting spot and I totally understand the hype now. It’s trendy and elevated, and ideal for a date night or celebration.

One of the top questions I get asked is “where is One of the top questions I get asked is “where is good for afternoon tea?” Well, I’ve found a GORGEOUS one! 😍

We booked afternoon tea at @wynyardhall super last minute after our wedding anniversary plans got cancelled due to Storm Boelo. They managed to squeeze us in and we were so grateful because it was such a beautiful couple of hours!

Wynyard Hall itself is so grand, so the setting alone was already ticking boxes, but when the stand was brought out, I was so excited. The afternoon teas here are seasonal, so all of the sweets had an autumn theme to the flavours, so they were right up my street.

The afternoon tea featured:
- Cheese savoury, ham & mustard, and tuna mayo sandwiches
- Pork sausage rolls
- Brie quiches
- Plain scones and fruit scones with jam and clotted cream
- Maple and pecan tarts
- Caramel apple cheesecakes
- Poached pear macarons
- Blackberry fools

And of course, pots of tea and coffee, plus Prosecco or orange juice as a welcome drink!

It was absolutely fabulous from start to finish, especially the caramel apple cheesecake. It was utterly heavenly! I also LOVED the scones, thanks to their deliciously crisp shell 😍

This was £37pp, so it isn’t the most affordable, but you get what you pay for in the food and in the setting. So if you’ve been looking for an afternoon tea, this could be the one!

This is THE must-have Christmas centrepiece from @ This is THE must-have Christmas centrepiece from @veizla_grazing 🧀 [ad - gifted]

‘Tis officially the season now we’re in November and so it’s time to start planning and prepping! And what better way to get ahead than booking some food and decor in one?

This is the Brie-ath, a whole kilo of super creamy and indulgent Brie, topped off with a mix of charcuterie treats, like olives, fruits, cured meats and more. It’s a total showstopper, but not only does it look fantastic, it tastes amazing too!

Not luxurious enough for you? You can premium items on top too, like frosted chestnuts and hot honey, so you can totally go all out!

The Brie-ath is inspired by Nordic Christmas traditions and designed to create magical moments around the table. Just imagine the whole family gathering round to enjoy with bread, crackers and good conversation 🥰

And that’s not all… there’s a sneaky peek of Veizla’s new Butter Candle in this video too! It’s exactly as it sounds, a candle made of butter. Simply light the wick and let the butter soften to spread. It’s flavoured with orange, cranberries, garlic, rosemary, thyme and Spanish forest honey, and it’s completely dreamy!

Both together are a match made in heaven, so why not pick the two up to take your Christmas table one step further?

Head over to @veizla_grazing to put your order in 🎅🏻

Fancy a gorgeous meal out in Yarm without the heft Fancy a gorgeous meal out in Yarm without the hefty price tag? Let me tell you about this little gem 😍 [ad - gifted]

I headed to @museyarm with my mum to try their early bird prix fixe menu, and honestly, we were so impressed!

Muse is a continental restaurant where the food is all about precision and quality ingredients, and you can really taste the care that goes into each dish.

The menu is available Monday to Friday from 12-2:30pm, and Monday to Thursday from 5:30-6:30pm, with two courses for £24 or three for £27.

I started with the lamb beignets, which were beautifully crispy on the outside and tender inside, followed by Moroccan chicken with the most delicious, rich, tomatoey sweet potato tagine.

My mum went all in on the fish dishes, starting with the mackerel parfait on sourdough toast with lemon gel and chicory salad, which was presented so beautifully! The fish flavour was fresh and lemon added a stunning tang. Then it was on to her pan fried coley main, served with black pudding rosti, samphire and clam beurre blanc. A gorgeous combo and another amazing presentation!

But the real star? The apple, pear and plum crumble. Honestly, it was so comforting and perfect for a chilly evening! For my mum, it was all about the dark chocolate mousse with hazelnut sponge and raspberry sorbet - a bit more of a lighter option.

So, if you’re looking for a lovely lunch or an early evening meal in Yarm, Muse’s early bird menu is definitely one to put on your list!

No matter if you go to their Norton shop or the brand new Boro shop on Linthorpe Road, you can expect the same amazing Detroit pizza that’s loaded up with toppings and gives a satisfying crunch from the caramelised cheese collar.

HOWEVER, if you want to try their New York pizza, head to Middlesbrough. These pizzas are super thin and crispy, and absolutely made to be dipped. Give the posh marg with some garlic dip a whirl and thank me later 😍

I’ve tried a few of their Detroit pizzas and the bolognaise (in this post) is my fave so far. I love the flavour of the meat and the crunch from the peppers! But the Mr Meats pizza is a close second and is ideal if you love a meat feast.

Their full menu has also JUST launched in Middlesbrough, so don’t miss the chicken fingers, burgers or doner!
