Teesside Fashion & Accessories Christmas Gift Guide 2020

26 Oct 2020

It's almost the most wonderful time of the year, and whether you're someone who thinks the 'C' word should be kept under wraps until at least December or someone who wants to get the decorations out now, we need to start buying our gifts at some point! I don't know about you, but with everything that's gone on this year, I want to make a conscious effort to shop local this season. I love shopping independent as it is, but I feel like the events of 2020 mean that our indie businesses need us more than ever before!

For this Teesside gift guide, I'm going to be talking about the indie fashion and accessory brands across our region, with places to shop for t-shirts, children's clothes, jewellery, hair accessories and so much more. There's something for absolutely everyone, so take a look and make some notes.

Tourism Teesside

Stock up your loved ones' wardrobes with some brand new t-shirts from Tourism Teesside. This store designs and makes the most fun designs, all centred around celebrating the forgotten histories and icons of Teesside through clothes. You KNOW that you need a Simply The Best (South Cleveland Garages) top for yourself, but don't forget to pick up a gift too!

Check out Teesside Tourism's shopFacebook or Twitter.

Daisy-Faye Designs

Banish the idea that homemade clothes aren't all that good with Daisy-Faye Designs! This indie biz makes and sells their very own clothes for children and the odd matching adult number, as well as slippers, masks, scarves and so much more. The clothes are stunning and all completely original, so this would be the ideal place to shop for the little ones in your life.

Real Green Frog

Don't forget about the babies this festive season! Real Green Frog in Norton are pros at making the sweetest baby clothes that you may have ever seen. I'm talking about cute slogan t-shirts with adorable phrase, as well as wooden soothers and peg dolls. This is a one stop shop for the tiny tots in your family, so grab them something to grow into.

The Bearhug Co.

If you haven't seen artwork from The Bearhug Co. yet, then now is the time to take a look! Luke Dixon, the artist behind this brand, draws and creates the coolest designs, then transfers them to clothes, like tees, hats and hoodies, as well as prints. This is a spot where you can shop for the whole family with sizes up to XXL and designs to suit everyone's tastes.

Wish Upon A String

Give the gift of motivation and inspiration with With Upon A String. Northern Accents

I don't know about you, but I'm obsessed with the polymer clay jewellery trend that's going round at the minute and one indie biz that's nailing the trend is Northern Accents. Their Etsy is packed full of colour and fun, all in the form of beautiful, clay statement earrings! These would make the perfect stocking filler or secret Santa gift, and I've definitely got my eye on a pair or two.

Moon & Jewel

Moon & Jewel are all about lovingly handmade, small batch polymer clay jewellery, so this is a great spot to shop at for trendy bling. There are clay earrings in a range of sizes, designs and colours, and you can opt to have them packaged up in a gift box. That saves you the wrapping too! This is a beautiful Boro-based biz and it's definitely one to check out.

Ruby Friday

Ruby Friday is the accessory-filled heaven of El, who started the store as a mini project after her first child was born, but took the full time plunge a few years later. I hope that this gift guide helped you out in some way, whether you're treating yourself or looking for the perfect gifts for your loved ones. It was certainly a lot of fun having a look around to see which businesses I should include, but if there are any others that you think I should add, please let me know!
