How lucky are we to be having another amazing Teesside Restaurant Week to kick off 2022? It feels like only a few weeks ago that I was doing my picks for Teesside Restaurant Week 2021, but I’m raring to go again for the New Year. For 2022, over 50 restaurants have applied to be involved, so there’s a massive wealth of choice. But for this post, I’m highlighting five spots that I’ve never tried before that I’d love to visit for this deal.
What is Teesside Restaurant Week 2022?
Across our area, we have an absolute wealth of independent eateries and this event is all about celebrating them. Running from 7th – 11th February 2022, you’ll be able to grab a three course meal at a selection of indie restaurants for only £20 (the price has increased for this year’s event). Yes, a starter, main course and dessert deal for only £20. It’s a complete steal and a brilliant way to support some local restaurants. This offer will run over lunch and dinner from Monday to Thursday, and lunchtimes on Friday. To make sure you’re booking correctly, check with your chosen restaurants to find out the times of the day they’ll be running their TRW menu.
How do I book a table?
Every place has their own way of booking, so if you spot somewhere in this post that you’d like to book, please contact them directly. I’ll be giving you every spot’s website and/or Facebook, so you’ll be able to find contact information pretty easily. But make sure you get in there sharpish because places will get booked up pretty quickly! If you also have any questions about time restrictions or the number of people that can be booked in, contact your chosen restaurant directly.
1. The Bay Horse, Hurworth
I’ve only ever heard amazing things about The Bay Horse, and I’ve been encouraged to visit for their potato dauphinoise alone! Set in a wonderful 15th century coaching inn, this Hurworth restaurant has both retained its traditional charm and embraced modern architecture to give two elegant dining areas. They serve up some of the most beautiful bistro food that I think I may have ever seen, so if you want to dine somewhere luxurious without paying a fortune for the food, this may be the choice for you. They’re also offering dinner this year too, rather than just lunch, so there’s lots more availability.

2. Chadwicks Inn, Maltby
Another perfect choice if you’re looking for luxury dining during Teesside Restaurant Week 2022 is Chadwicks Inn. Situated in a quiet village on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, this spot is a traditional country pub with an award-winning restaurant. Fine dining dishes, a cosy pub setting and stunning rural surroundings – it sounds incredible, doesn’t it? This is a perfect choice for a February date night!

3. G&Tea House, Great Ayton
I can’t even explain to you how gorgeous G&Tea House out in Great Ayton looks. For a start, you’re in the most beautiful country surroundings, just by Angrove Country Park. Secondly, their food looks absolutely incredible, with seasonal menus and a fantastic amount of choices. And third of all, every single photo they post online is just jaw-droppingly amazing and makes me want to visit more. This is definitely one to check out if you want somewhere truly relaxing and atmospheric!

4. The Devonport, Darlington
While I’ve never been to The Devonport before, I’ve picked up a Mother’s Day dinner from there for my mum, and she loved it. That’s pretty high praise, so to hear it’s taking part in Teesside Restaurant Week 2022 is very exciting! The Devonport is an 18th century hotel and restaurant located on a picturesque village green. It’s like something out of a period novel! The sumptuous restaurant offers a fantastic menu of seafood, starters, meat dishes and the most delicious-sounding puds that I think I’ve ever come across.

5. The Crathorne Arms, Yarm
The Crathorne Arms has been on my list to try for a little while now because I’ve only everheard fantastic things. You’ll find this place in Crathorne just outside of Yarm, so it’s in a fab spot to make a day of it. And while The Crathorne Arms is a village pub with a cosy interior, wooden accents and a log fire, the food is miles above typical pub standard. You can expect high quality and a well thought out menu that gives you lots of value for money.
