Summer is here, which means cocktail season is upon us! Whether you’re enjoying them on your holiday by the pool or in a swanky bar, you can’t deny the delicious taste of a cocktail. Sweet, sour, fruity, bitter – there’s something for everyone. I love me a classic piña colada or a strawberry daiquiri. The more it tastes like sweets, the better!
But what happens when you fancy a cocktail at home and just don’t have the ingredients or the time to put one together? That’s where Funkin Cocktails steps in!

But how exactly do these differ from other canned cocktails? Well, they use nitro! The nitro bubbles are 100 times smaller and longer lasting than CO2 bubbles, which in turn provides a uniquely smooth, velvety feel. Basically, these should taste just as a cocktails whipped up by a mixologist in a bar at a fraction of the cost.
And what makes them even better is that you can have them your way. If you want to drink your cool cocktail straight from the can, go right ahead. Or you can make it more sophisticated by following the instructions on the can for the perfect serve. For example, the Espresso Martini cocktail suggests pouring the drink into a martini glass and garnishing with coffee beans.

We couldn’t wait to get stuck in, so the first one we tried was the Espresso Martini. I’m not the biggest fan of coffee, but this was so delicious. It was super smooth and sweet with just a little bite of coffee. As Matthew’s a big coffee fan, I added some extra coffee beans to garnish and boost the flavour, and he loved it. He ended up finishing off the can and felt like he was in a posh bar, rather than sipping a drink at home.
It’s so hard to pick a favourite because I enjoyed them all, but the Piña Colada definitely deserves a shout out. I wish we had the right glass to have made it “properly”, but it still tasted sensational from the can. It was pineappley, coconutty and so sweet. All I needed was some extra sunshine and I could’ve been anywhere at all!
But I think if I had to pick my top favourite, it would have to be the Passion Fruit Martini. I just love the flavour of passion fruit, so this drink gave me the right amount of zing and sweetness. Again, I drank it straight from the can and it was just sensational! It was crisp and cold, and the drink was a vivid yellow. It was perfect!
