1. Lola Jeans – 2 courses for £20 or 3 courses for £25

If there’s one thing I truly love, it’s a mucky, gourmet burger, which they have in abundance at Lola Jeans. The Clancy Wiggum is an absolute must-try, but if you don’t like burgers, not to worry – the menu also includes tacos and steak too. You can grab one of these mains with a starter or pud for £20, or go the whole hog with all three courses for £25.

Find Lola Jeans at 1-3 Market Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 6JE. Read more about their offer here.

2. Central Oven Shaker – 2 courses for £15 or 3 courses for £20

Another food group I’m a massive fan of is pizza. In fact, I think if I had to pick only one thing to eat for the rest of my life, it would be pizza. I’ve visited Central Oven Shaker several times on trips to Newcastle and never had a bad meal there and it’s biggest draw for me is that it’s a Neapolitan pizza restaurant. For Restaurant Week, they’re offering a pizza with a starter or pud for £15, or all three courses for £20.

Find Central Oven Shaker at 8 Neville Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 5EN. Read more about their offer here.

3. El Coto – a starter and 3 tapas dishes for £15

If you’ve got a group of friends who’d like to do Newcastle Restaurant Week, tapas at El Coto would be an amazing idea. They’re offering a starter and three tapas dishes for £15 per person, so if four of you go out together, you can enjoy 12 tapas dishes between you. There’s so much choice on their menu too, but I think I’d choose Albóndigas En Salsa Española, Chorizo Frito and Arroz De Matanza with the bread starter to mop up. Delicious!

Find El Coto at 21 Leazes Park Road, Newcastle, NE1 4PF. Read more about their offer here.

4. Dabbawal – 3 courses for £20

One of the best things about Restaurant Week is being able to try somewhere new, so this pick is somewhere I’ve never been but have only heard good things about. Dabbawal is all about Mumbia street food with flavour that’s comforting for the soul. They offer a relaxed dining experience with the food arriving as it’s cooked, specialising in small plates as well as big eats. They’re offering three courses for £20 this Newcastle Restaurant Week and the onion palak bhajis starter is calling my name!

Find Dabbawal at 69-75 High Bridge, Newcastle, NE1 6BX. Read more about their offer here.

5. Horticulture – 2 brunch dishes for £15 or 3 small plates for £15

Another spot that I’ve only heard good things about, but have never visited, is Horticulture. This is one of the hottest places in the city for brunch, with both healthy and hearty options, depending on what takes your fancy. There’s so much to choose from, but I think I’d go for the American pancakes for brunch, and the lamb kofteh, cheese and leek croquettas, and Korean chicken for the small plates. This is another fab option if you’re dining out with a group of friends!

Find Horticulture at 1-3 Market Lane, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 6QQ. Read more about their offer here.
