We had the pleasure of staying in Middlesbrough at Penthouse 333A, so here’s absolutely everything you need to know.
What is Penthouse 333A?
Penthouse 333A is a huge and luxurious apartment that sleeps up to six people. It’s owned by the family behind Central Park Restaurant and is conveniently located above the restaurant. Built in the late 1800s, the penthouse has been newly refurbished while keeping its original charm and character.
Where is Penthouse 333A?
This spot is ideal if you want to stay in Middlesbrough town centre. The address is 333 Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, TS5 6AA, but you’ll also be able to find it by searching Central Park in your sat nav. There’s free parking just over the road, the heart of the town centre just a short walk away, and Albert Park on the doorstep for exploring.

Central Park and Penthouse 333A
One thing that really helps this apartment stand out from the crowd is its ties to Central Park Restaurant. Not only is it owned by the family who run the restaurant and is conveniently located above, but each booking also receives a £10 voucher to spend there! That means that you don’t have to cook if you don’t want to – the food can be brought up as a takeaway or you can dine in the restaurant itself. If you want a stay in Middlesbrough that gives you the balance of home cooking and dining out, this is perfect!
The menu is left on the dining table for you to peruse, but I highly recommend ordering a parmo. Central Park are famed for their parmos, so there’s no better place to try the Teesside delicacy.
Our stay at the penthouse
We were so excited for our stay in Middlesbrough at Penthouse 333A! We’re always looking for great staycation spots and this sounded completely up our street. It was really easy to check in – we just picked up the keys from the Central Park desk and then headed to the 333 door.
When you first walk in, you have to head up the stairs. Unfortunately, there’s no lift for wheelchair users, so this apartment wouldn’t be accessible for everyone. Penthouse 333A is right at the top behind another locked door, so it’s definitely very secure.
The first thing you see as soon as you walk through the door is the bar, where you’ll find a bottle of wine, info about staying in the penthouse and a sweet jar. It felt so indulgent to have a bar in the place we were staying in! And I loved the neon sign and giant playing cards too – it really added to the bar vibe. In this area, you’ll also find the dining table with the Central Park menu and voucher. From here, the place turns into a TARDIS with so much room than you could ever imagine.
The first bedroom was gigantic with so much room for luggage, a rail to hang up clothes, a small sofa and a huge super king bed. Needless to say, this was the room we chose to sleep in. Further along were two other doubles bedrooms, one that had a dressing table and en-suite bathroom with a shower, and another that was slightly smaller but still roomy. The decor throughout all of the rooms was so chic, stylish and modern, and it was clear a lot of thought had been put into the look of each one.
The living room was the perfect space to unwind. There were two big red sofas, a coffee table, TV and electric fireplace, so it felt really cosy while still having the beautifully stylish decor. I also loved that there was a selection of board games to enjoy and floor cushions, which I used when we had our tea. We had a really cosy evening cuddled up on a sofa with The Holiday on. It was just lovely!
The bathroom was absolutely gorgeous. I was immediately greeted by the gigantic bath, and there was plenty of room for the sink and loo. Of course, I claimed the bath for the evening and had a long, bubbly soak, which was the ideal way to chill on a Sunday night. There was also a shelf with a few little toiletries, so don’t worry if you forget your shower gel!
And the final room was the kitchen, which, again, was massive. The opposite walls both had lots of cupboards and drawers, so there was plenty of storage space, plus loads of appliances. You’re not short of cooking equipment, like an air fryer, micorwave, oven, fridge freezer and more. There’s even a washer and dryer that would be incredibly handy for people who are staying for a longer period of time. All of the crockery, cutlery and glassware you could need was tucked away neatly, and I loved that there were pain au chocolat, cereal and milk for breakfast.
Our stay here was utterly perfect. We ordered a classic parmo and a pulled pork parmo, both of which were stunning. We did half and half, and plated them up with the chips and salad, but we would’ve happily had them out of the box too – either sat at the dining table or sat on the living room floor. They were cooked to perfection and it’s clear to see why the parmos are so popular in the restaurant.
Our evening was so comfortable. We started with the food and movie, then I hopped in the bath to settle all the way down. I usually don’t sleep well in new places, but I was out like a light in the giant super king bed. The bedroom also had blackout blinds, so it was really dark and cosy. I had an amazing sleep!
We wouldn’t hesitate to stay in the penthouse again. It was such a gorgeous feeling to stay somewhere that was local, luxurious and so indulgent. The location is perfect, the whole place was spotless and it was brilliantly spacious. It would be an amazing accommodation for a group or those who are wanting a bit of a longer stay, but we were there for just one night and we loved it.
