We’re so lucky to have Rockliffe Hall Spa right here in the Tees Valley. People travel from miles around to visit this award-winning venue, including celebrities and influencers, and who would’ve thought it was in Darlington? But there’s very good reasons why they make the trip and I’ve put together five of my reasons why you should book!
1. It’s one of the best spas in the North East
Don’t just take my word for it, let the professionals do the talking. Rockliffe Hall has scooped up award after award, not just for the spa, but for its hotel and golf course too. It’s also held the AA Five-Red Star ‘Inspectors Choice’ status for eleven consecutive years – an accolade that is given to properties with outstanding levels of hospitality and service throughout. It’s listed in Good Spa Guide’s top North East spa guide and has a 4.6 star rating on TripAdvisor. It truly is one of the best in the North East!

2. The facilities are second-to-none
I love a trip to any good spa, but Rockliffe Hall’s facilities are the best I’ve ever seen. They offer a great variety, so you can do laps in the 20m swimming pool or enjoy jets and massage in the hydropool. You can enjoy the foot spa, relax in the tepidarium or boost your respiratory system in the salt steam room. There’s an infrared room, an igloo, a tropicarium and a Roman sauna, so you aren’t short of thermal experiences. And to round it all off, you can take a dip in the outdoor hot tub!
While it’s all well and good for the spa to have these facilities, it’s also worth me mentioning that everything is really well maintained and it’s clean. The staff are great at making sure everything is spick and span, and it really elevates the experience.
3. The Spa Garden is a total treat
As if the facilities mentioned above were enough, Rockliffe Hall also has the Spa Garden. This is an extra £25 per person, which allows you 90 minutes in the space. You’ll be able to take in panoramic views, dip in the infinity pool with hydromassage features, relax in the glass fronted sauna, and lounge on the tepidarium beds. It offers a more private experience and it’s a real must, especially if you’re celebrating!

4. There’s a fantastic treatment menu
If I’m going to the spa, I’m going to book a treatment, and Rockliffe Hall’s treatment menu is amazing! The options beautifully combine exquisite holistic spa rituals with results-driven treatments for the perfect blend of healing and balance. From Himalayan salt ritual massages and hot rocks, to prescriptive facials and cryotherapy, there’s so much to choose from. The massages I’ve had at Rockliffe Hall have always been nothing short of incredible and I’ve recently become a fan of their facials (I nearly fell asleep last time!). They add another layer of luxury to a spa trip and I highly recommend.
5. It’s the perfect place to totally unwind
We all live such busy lives and self care is health care. It’s important to relax, de-stress and totally unwind, and Rockliffe Hall Spa is the perfect place to do that. Whether you’re sitting poolside with a book, working out your knots with a massage or gazing at the view from the infinity pool, I guarantee you’ll be in an oasis of calm. I always leave Rockliffe with a sense of peace because the experience is just second to none every time. So take this as your sign to find your calm here!
