Spooky season is upon us, so if you’re looking for things to do at Halloween in Teesside, I’ve got a spine-tingling list for you. I’ve always said that the area is amazing for events and fun days out, and October is no exception. Take a look below to see a full list of Halloween things to do in Teesside for 2025 (organised in date order).

Scream Factory – from Fri 3rd to Fri 31st – This year marks 13 terrifying years of Scream Factory and to celebrate, they’re unleashing 13 scare zones like you’ve never seen before. With 4 brand new zones added to the lineup, this year’s experience is packed with more fear, more chaos, and more screams.
Pumpkin Picking at Baydale, Darlington – select dates between Sat 4th and Thurs 31st – Baydale Farm is a firm favourite for families in Darlington. They offer 12 different varieties of pumpkins and squashes, from traditional orange Racers, to the tiny cute white Casperitas and super tasty Crown Prince winter squashes. With no entry fee, it’s a fabulous and affordable option for picking your own.
Pumpkin Picking at Cherry Hill Garden Centre – select dates between Sat 4th and Thurs 31st – Head along to Cherry Hill Garden Centre for some autumn fun and pick your own pumpkins! Included in your ticket price is entry to the pumpkin patch, plus outdoor activities for the little ones to enjoy, photo opportunities and a designated pumpkin carving area* should you wish to carve your pumpkin there.
Halloween VR Experience at Dorman Museum – Sat 4th to Thurs 31st – At this spooktacular family Halloween event, help D.A.S.H. fight the evil FLASH and get back to safety! You’ll encounter ghastly ghouls, petrifying pumpkins and sinister scarecrows, so keep your eyes peeled – you’ll need your wits about you on this spine-tingling journey.
Pumpkins & Platters with Palette & Pop at The Ship Inn Low Worsall – Sat 11th – Come and paint your own ceramic pumpkin – all materials and equipment included – while enjoying a welcome drink and a charcuterie board.
Pumpkin Picking at Tweddle Farm – select dates between Sat 11th and Thurs 31st – Join Tweddle Farm at one of the North East’s most loved pumpkin patches! Filled with garden games, face painting, funfair rides, photo opportunities and more! Their patch is bursting with all kinds of shapes, colours and sizes. Choose your favourite to take home and carve.
Spooked! at the Dorman Museum – Tues 14th – The Middlesbrough Circle of Magicians is bringing an eerie night of magic, mystery and murder to the museum, for adults only! Move through the museum after dark and enjoy immersive magical performances, and try to solve a murder mystery along the way
Day of the Dead Paint & Party Fiesta with Palette & Pop at the Ingleby Barwick Hub Community Centre – Sat 18th – Come and paint your own skull in the style of the Mexican festival of day of the dead. As Halloween approaches and the ‘Dia de los Muertos’ we celebrate how to Mexicans do it and paint our own ‘sugar skull’.
Pumpkin Picking at Pontac Farm, Redcar – Sat 18th to Thurs 31st – Tucked beneath the edge of Errington Woods, Pontac Farm is a third-generation family farm that’s been delighting pumpkin pickers since 2016. With sweeping views stretching out towards the coast, it’s the perfect autumn escape for families, couples, school trips, and groups looking for a wholesome countryside adventure.
Pumpkin Picking at Newham Grange Farm – select dates between Sat 18th to Thurs 31st – Gather your mini ghosts and ghouls and head down to Newham Grange Farm’s popular pumpkin patch between 18th-19th and 25th-31st October. There’s small and medium sized pumpkins available, which are perfect for little hands. Pumpkins are priced at £3.50 each and are subject to availability.
Horror Movie Quiz at The Loft, Stockton – Thurs 23rd – As part of Spooky Season, October’s movie pub quiz is horror movie themed, covering everything from slashers to spooky doings. Expect questions on classic horrors, modern chillers, famous last words! (like “I’ll be right back…!”) and spooky trivia!
The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Quiz at Play, Middlesbrough – Thurs 23rd – A test of knowledge on all of the Treehouse of Horror classics like The Shinning and Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace, Nightmare Cafeteria and The Devil & Homer Simpson. 40 questions, Treehouse of Horror vibes all night, and Simpsons prizes to be won.
She The Show: Halloween Special at The Georgian Theatre – Sat 25th – Get ready to embark on a journey through the golden era of pop rock with SHE, an electrifying music show that celebrates the iconic female singers who blazed a trail through the 70s and 80s. From the sultry swagger of Stevie Nicks to the infectious rhythms of Blondie to the rebellious spirit of Pat Benatar, SHE brings to life the anthems that empowered a generation and inspired a revolution.
Hocus Pocus Music Bingo at The Loft, Stockton – Sat 25th – Sistaaaaaahs! Lock up your sons cos it’s time for a spooktacular edition of Music Bingo Mayhem. Hosted by drag Superstar Janice Dickinyourson as Winnifred Sanderson. Expect dance offs and apple bobbing to Halloween and party bangers from across all decades as you play for a house or full line with Bingo with a twist – its songs instead of numbers.
Middleton Grange Shopping Centre Halloween Spooktacular – Sat 25th – Middleton Grange Shopping Centre in Hartlepool is hosting a free Spook-tacular Halloween event on Saturday 25th October, a great day out for families in half-term. From 10am-4pm, Central Square will be filled with spooky crafts, a pumpkin trail, cupcake decorating and more – all free and no booking required.
Scarecrow Trail at Preston Park – Sat 25th to Sun 2nd – Each scarecrow has been handmade by the brilliant volunteers and placed around the museum for you to discover. It’s a fun adventure for all ages!
Pick Your Own Pumpkin and Carving at Darlington Market – Mon 27th to Wed 29th – Pick your own pumpkin right from the patch with Darlington Market. Also includes a FREE carving station. They’ll have the tools and space ready, just bring your creativity! Perfect for families, friends, and anyone who loves a little autumn magic.
Haunted Shadows: The Gothic Tales of Edith Nesbit at Princess Alexandra Auditorium Yarm – Tues 28th – “Sometimes our night time imaginings merely hint at the real horrors…” An expert at chilling the spine and curdling the blood, Edith Nesbit relates three of her best Gothic tales while recalling her own childhood terrors.
Big Science Spooktacular Show at Hopetown Darlington – Tues 28th – Big Science are bringing their spooktacular amazing show back to Hopetown Darlington, with a haunting Halloween twist! Expect to be blown away with demonstrations, experiments, and more. The perfect way to introduce kids to science through interactive examples and hands-on inspection.
Halloween Iron Dyeing Workshop at Land Of Iron – Tues 28th – Learn how to print a card with a design of your choice using Cleveland Fibre Arts special potion made from iron ore pigment! Using a paste made from glue, gum arabic and locally sourced iron ore powder you can create spooky Halloween cards using natural dyes!
Halloween Forest Club at Hardwick Park – Tues 28th – Halloween Forest Club is a hands-on experience designed to engage children about the natural world around them, aimed at children between 2 and 6 years of age. This session will include having a go at toasting a marshmallow on a fire. Outdoor clothing is required and tickets must be booked in advance.
Halloween Crafts at Kirkleatham Museum – Tues 28th and Thurs 30th – Head on down to Kirkleatham Museum this Halloween for spooky arts and crafts. Items priced between £1.50 – £3.50.
Kids Halloween Party at Stockton Cricket Club – Thurs 30th – On Thursday 30th October from 4:30-6:30pm, Stockton Cricket Club will be hosting a Halloween party with ghoulish games, creepy dancing, and fang-tastic fun! Dress up in your spookiest costumes, gather your little goblins, dust off your broomsticks, and join us if you dare… it’s going to be a spooktacular event not to be missed.
Halloween Quiz at Play, Middlesbrough – Thurs 30th – Play Middlesbrough are testing your knowledge on all things spooky season. The movies, the music and the traditions! A few tricks and a few treats in between. Halloween vibes all night and wicked prizes to be won.
Spooky Book Club at Dorman Museum – Thurs 30th – We’ll be reading a ghoulishly good Halloween tale, followed by fun activities and a DIY craft inspired by the story. Come dressed in your spookiest attire and get ready to have a frightfully good time! Participants will receive a free copy of a book as well as premium craft to make and take home.
It’s Good To Be Bad at STACK Middlesbrough – Sat 30th – Join STACK for a frightfully good time, as they get set for the grand return of the Kids’ Halloween Party – “It’s Good to be Bad”! There’ll be a spooky disco, frightfully fun games, Halloween themed characters and of course, fancy dress is more than welcome.
Halloween Bottomless Brunch at The Loft, Stockton – Fri 31st – Join The Loft on Halloween night for a spooktackular evening of bottomless drinks and cocktails with some frighteningly delicious food and one stop Mix Tape Party Anthems to singalong to. Start times can be any time between 4pm-8pm for 90mins or 2 hours.
Halloween Lights Out Market at Darlington Market – Fri 31st – Get ready for a spooky shopping experience like no other! Head to Darlington Market on Friday 31st October from 2pm-8pm for an afternoon and evening filled with eerie vibes, glowing stalls, and one-of-a-kind finds. Discover unique products from amazing local makers, grab delicious bites from your favourite street food vendors, and soak in the atmosphere with Halloween tunes and festive fun.
Bloom Middlesbrough’s Halloween Cinema Club – The Rocky Horror Picture Show – Fri 31st – This Halloween, step into the world of fishnets, thrills, and chills as Bloom Restaurant transforms into a Rocky Horror haven for one night only! On Friday 31st October, they’re rolling out the red carpet (and maybe a few garters) for a special screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in our glorious show hall. Enjoy a main from the Unlimited Club menu and bottomless drinks for 90 minutes.
Halloween Family Fun Day at Hopetown Darlington – Fri 31st – Hopetown is hosting its very first Family Fun Run. Brought to us by Darlington Trail, you can register at https://race-nation.co.uk/register/hopetown-fun-runs. There will be costume competitions with petrifying prizes! The categories are – 0 – 5, 6 – 17, grown-ups, and dogs! There’ll be face-painting, live music, a spooky juggling illusionist, the return of the FitLab X Spooktown dance-along, and much more!
Halloween Mega Meet at Kirkleatham Walled Garden – Fri 31st – Get ready for a mega car meet at Kirkleatham Walled Garden with a spooky twist! Expect epic car and bike clubs, a kids’ Halloween party, lantern walks, costume prizes and more.
Hulla-Ween: Mini Monsters – Fri 31st – In this playful, hands-on session, your little beasties will design and bring their own paper monster puppets to life. You’ll have a chance to meet the trolls, goblins and ghouls that make up the Monster Circus and learn all about puppeteering – how to make your creations wiggle, stomp and roar across the ring.
Hulla-Ween: Monster Circus – Fri 31st – A monstrously fun and imaginative 90 minute immersive workshop for young beasties aged 7 to 11 and their families. At the Monster Circus, children will enter a world where puppets roar to life, each one designed to the same high quality you see in theatre and television but specially adapted for smaller hands. Get ready for a line up of juggling goblins, tightrope trolls and giant, fire-breathing festival fiends. It’s up to your little ring masters to put on a spook-tacular performance with our frightening puppet friends.
Family Halloween Spooktacular at ARC Stockton – Fri 31st – ARC will become a hub of Halloween fun on Friday 31st October with a full day of family-friendly activities. Drop in from 10am to 3pm, enjoy free creative sessions, storytelling, and trick-or-treat challenges designed to delight young guests and their families.
The Monster Hour Magic Show at Dorman Museum – Fri 31st – A thrilling, spellbinding magic show packed with dazzling illusions, jaw-dropping tricks, and laugh-out-loud surprises. The marvellous travelling magician is coming to town this Halloween, even the cheekiest, most mischievous monsters won’t be able to resist the magic! Will the magician outwit the mischievous monsters? Or will the monsters create their own magical mayhem?
Things That Go Bump In The Night at STACK Middlesbrough – Fri 31st – Get ready for a seriously spooky Halloween stage show like no other! Expect frightfully good fun with live dancers, a DJ bringing the beats, a haunting sing-off, and a lip sync battle that’ll have you howling with laughter. Fancy dress is highly encouraged — so dust off those costumes and bring your spooky A-game!
