After what feels like a lifetime, Teesside Restaurant Week is officially back for 2021! Hands up, who else has been excited for this week to come around? Due to the pandemic, there was a little bit of a hiatus after TRW 2020, but it’s returning better than ever for the end of the year with some new spots on offer. So I thought I’d put a little post together with some of my top picks!
But before we get into that, let’s chat a bit about what Teesside Restaurant Week 2021 is and how you can get involved.
What is Teesside Restaurant Week 2021?
Across our area, we have an absolute wealth of independent eateries and this event is all about celebrating them. Running from 8th – 12th November 2021, you’ll be able to grab a three course meal at a selection of indie restaurants for only £15. Yes, a starter, main course and dessert deal for only £15. It’s a complete steal and a brilliant way to support some local restaurants. This offer will run over lunch and dinner from Monday to Thursday, and lunchtimes on Friday. To make sure you’re booking correctly, check with your chosen restaurants to find out the times of the day they’ll be running their TRW menu.
How do you book a table?
Of course, every place is different, but if you spot somewhere in this post that you’d like to book, please contact them directly. I’ll be giving you every spot’s website and/or Facebook, so you’ll be able to find contact information pretty easily. But make sure you get in there sharpish because places will get booked up pretty quickly! If you also have any questions about time restrictions or the number of people that can be booked in, contact your chosen restaurant directly.
Banh Mi, Norton
I don’t know about you, but I think Teesside Restaurant Week 2021 is the perfect opportunity to try out some new places. And somewhere I haven’t tried yet is Banh Mi in Norton. This spot took over the cool underground space from The Violet Green, so it looks like it has oodles of character. It also serves up some of the most beautiful-looking Asian fusion food, including the Weeping Tiger you can see above. This place is high up on my list of top picks, and I think it should be on yours too!
Be warned, this spot gets booked up very quickly, and with the Teesside Restaurant Week 2021 offer, it’s bound to be a sell out. If you want to bag your place, you can book online here.
The Herd & Herb, Sedgefield
While I’ve just said that Teesside Restaurant Week 2021 is a great opportunity to try new places, it’s also a good excuse to support your favourites. We love The Herd & Herb in Sedgefield, especially for a bit of a date night. The food is always fantastic and the staff are just lovely. I can guarantee, though, that every course is going to be phenomenal!

The Crathorne Arms, Yarm
The Crathorne Arms is another spot I haven’t tried before, but I’ve only ever heard great things. You’ll find this place in Crathorne just outside of Yarm, so it’s in a fab spot to make a day of it. And while The Crathorne Arms is a village pub with a cosy interior, wooden accents and a log fire, the food is miles above typical pub standard. You can expect high quality and a well thought out menu that gives you lots of value for money.

The Truffled Hog, Stokesley
The Truffled Hog has completely taken the local area by storm after opening up just a little over a year ago and has become one of the hottest spots in Stokesley for a bite to eat. As you’ll see from the photos above, their spreads are just absolutely drool-worthy, but they also offer lots of small plates and lunch options. And not only do they offer amazing food, the setting is also incredibly beautiful. The space is so calming and serene, and features lots of cosy touches to make it so warm and inviting. Get this place on your list!

Cena, Yarm
Yarm is home to lots of lovely independent eateries and you’ll find a fabulously eclectic mix, but if you’re looking for a modern Italian, Cena is the place to go. This is one of our go to restaurants for celebration dinners, so I can wholeheartedly recommend it for Teesside Restaurant Week. Their seasonal menus are packed full of pastas, risottos, sourdough pizzas and so much more. It’s got plenty of choice for everyone, so ideal if you’re looking for somewhere family-friendly too.

The Copperstone, Middlesbrough
The Copperstone is the stuff of legends in Boro and I can’t believe I’ve never been! You’ll find this Thai and Pan Asian restaurant in the heart of Linthorpe Village with an amazing menu of classics and some unique options, like the Thai parmo. Their usual menu is absolutely huge, so I’m really intrigued to see what they include on their Teesside Restaurant Week menu! But whatever they put together, it’s sure to be incredible.
