Finkle & Green Returns To Stockton-On-Tees

Source: Gazette

My hometown of Stockton-on-Tees has really seen an amazing overhaul over the last few years, from the high street being completely refreshed to The Globe reopening, but there’s no stopping the improvements just yet with this latest bit of news. If you’ve ventured down the A1305 along the riverside, you may have spotted Finkle & Green overlooking the water from high up on Finkle Street, or maybe even eaten there before it shut in 2019. Well, we can all get excited because this gorgeous spot is set to reopen soon!

What is Finkle & Green?

Finkle & Green is set to be a luxurious bar and restaurant with a late license designed for people who love music of all cultures. There will be an extensive outdoor terrace and garden with picturesque views of the River Tees. The owners plan on setting it up for people to relax, dance, enjoy great drinks and food whilst seeing incredible live artists in an intimate and friendly environment. It’s set to be a real destination in Teesside, and I’ve been watching all the revamp updates on the Finkle & Green Instagram with anticipation!

The restaurant has actually been a part of the Stockton food scene for a good few years, but it sadly closed suddenly in 2019, less than 12 months after it was refurbished. The spot has been laying dormant, looking out over the river since then, but it’s been a hive of activity with work to get it refreshed and ready for a new lease of life.

When is Finkle & Green open?

After a bit of a delay because of the pandemic and acquiring materials, Finkle & Green will be open from Friday 27th August 2021. For more updates, please check out the Finkle & Green Facebook page.

What kind of food can I have at Finkle & Green?

Finkle & Green is going to be a small plates-focused spot with an international feel, so if you love tapas and sharing style food, you’re going to love it. There’s a whole a la carte menu that’s packed full of dishes, including lamb kofta, chilli squid tacos, beer glazed belly pork, and mini parmo bites. There’s a mix of different cuisines, so there truly is something for everyone. There’s also a prix fixe menu with several tapas dishes on, which is ideal if you’re sticking to a budget.

If tapas isn’t your thing, then don’t worry! There’s a whole breakfast menu for the early birds with lots of classic options and hot drinks, and a mega Sunday menu for those in need of a roast. So whether it’s a sharing board you want or a slap up Sunday dinner, Finkle & Green have got a menu to cover every need.

What else can we expect from Finkle & Green?

Not only is Finkle & Green going to be a haven for foodies, but it will be a new nightlife spot in the town centre. Their late license allows them to serve up their extensive drinks menu til 3AM, and the top floor is being kitted out with everything needed for a great night out. With a DJ booth and plenty of room for dancing, you can expect to see live music acts, acoustic sets, DJs, and specialist music nights.

You can also expect the food to be incredibly high quality and delicious. The team plan on using only locally sourced ingredients, cooked from fresh by the passionate kitchen staff, who are led by James Kernan, an experienced head chef who has worked in Cena, Muse and Tomahawk Steakhouse. The venue will also offer private hire of their luxurious terrace, which would be ideal for birthdays, engagement parties, or work events.

Where is Finkle & Green?

Like the sound of the new and improved Finkle & Green? Me too! You can find this spot at 11 Finkle Street, Stockton-on-Tees, TS18 1TB. There’s a spacious car park just down the road and it’s a short walk from the town centre, so it’s very easy to find and accessible.

This is definitely somewhere that’s on my list to try when it’s open, so I’ll be watching their social media like a hawk. If you want any more information about Finkle & Green or want to book your table, check out the Finkle & Green website.
