I feel like as I get older, it’s the same as soon as it hits December… “I can’t believe it’s the end of the year!” Every single time, I’m always baffled by how quick December has come around, and 2021 is no different. Does anyone else feel like it’s completely flown by? But as always with a new month, it’s time for me to share what I was grateful for in November.
The snow – I know, I know, the snow was a bit of a pain, but there’s something to be said about seeing it from your window. I also enjoyed exploring Ormesby Hall in the snow with work too – it transformed it into a total winter wonderland. Despite being grateful for the snow, I was also grateful for how quickly it melted so life could go back to normal. Everything in balance!
Putting the tree up – we usually put our tree up quite late in December, but after seeing all the happy folk putting their decorations in November, we decided to join them. I went all out and got some new decorations (ours were all champagne and blush pink, and I wanted something more traditional), and our living room is looking fabulously cosy. I feel super festive and Christmassy, but I need to get some Christmas shopping done. Eek!
Teesside Restaurant Week – this feels like a total lifetime ago, but Teesside Restaurant Week at the start of November was fantastic. This is always such a fab event and a great way to discover new spots across the area. We gave Banh Mi a go and LOVED it, and Matthew got his first experience of The Chairman. Roll on the next one, I say!
My goddaughter’s birthday – I love my little goddaughter’s and November 11th saw the youngest turn 4. It’s so fun having little kids in the family, which in turn means that the birthdays are fun. I always make the cake and this year, she wanted a mermaid theme. So we had mermaid tails, sea shells, lots of blue, green and pink, and glitter! I was very proud and she was so chuffed with it.
That blogging feeling – I really enjoyed blogging in November. For a little while, I think I was restricting myself in what I was posting. I hadn’t done a restaurant review in ages, not because I didn’t have the content, but because I just didn’t have the will to. I was mainly sticking to lists and the like, so it’s felt good to actually let myself do some different things.
So that was November in a nutshell for me! Let me know what you were grateful for.
