Alright, who’s guilty of this? When we want something quick and a little bit naughty, like a juicy, cheesy burger, it’s so easy to visit one of the big chains that are on practically every corner. Either that, or we put in an order on a delivery app and we don’t even have to leave the house. Well, take this as my plea to opt to eat independent next time you fancy a fast food fix.
And one of the best spots you can try to grab yourself a burger in Boro is Burgerlicious. This Linthorpe Road spot (242-242a Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 3QP) opened at the start of 2022 and has been smashing it ever since! But if you haven’t visited yet, here are some reasons why you need to have a trip there or get an order in online.

1. There’s so much choice at Burgerlicious
If you like a menu with a lot of choice, then Burgerlicious Middlesbrough is the place for you. As the name suggests, they specialise in incredible smash burgers, including huge patty stacks, but they also have lots of other options. My favourite has got to be the Double Oldham burger, which is a bun stuffed with two deliciously crispy chicken fillets, lettuce and mayo. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
But there’s also fish burgers, veggie burgers, wraps, loaded fries, nachos and a whole host of sensational sides. I can guarantee there’s something for even the fussiest eaters.
2. Burgerlicious is very family-friendly
There’s room for absolutely everyone at Burgerlicious Middlesbrough. It prides itself on being a family-friendly spot with food to cater for littles and grown ups, and an ethos of ensuring all customers have the best, tastiest experience possible.

3. The interiors are super sleek
Gone are the days of the same old traditional looks to fast food restaurants. At Burgerlicious, you can grab a place in a booth, on one of the comfy armchairs or the industrial-style chairs. There’s modern rope lighting, artwork on the walls and a neon sign that you absolutely need to get an Insta selfie under. The place was designed by local interior design studio and experts, Cocoon & Bauer, so everything is perfectly placed. It has so much more life to it than a chain fast food restaurant and the interior definitely helps with that.
4. You can sit in, grab kerbside or get a delivery
The customer experience is absolutely top notch at Burgerlicious Middlesbrough, and you can decide how you want to eat. You can either sit in and enjoy the gorgeous interiors, or order for kerbside pickup, just like doing a drive thru (just make sure you order in advance). Or you can stay in the comfort of your own home and have the food delivered right to your door.
If you fancy kerbside pickup or delivery, make sure you check out the Burgerlicious website to order or call them on 01642 051 315.

5. Their food is affordable
One of the most exciting things about Burgerlicious is that the prices are extremely affordable. They’re in a prime location for students to try and the food will be very kind to your loan too! The Licious Single B (smashed beef patty with lettuce, cheese and burger sauce) starts at just £1.95, going up to the Extreme Smash (2 x Angus 3oz smashed patties, 1 x Oldham chicken burger, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese, cheese sauce, and burger sauce) at £9.95, with lots of choice in between.
And everything is created from the best quality produce. Owner Amer Ditta said, “It’s one of our biggest goals to use fresh produce so our beef burgers are Angus Prime Beef and our Oldham chicken burgers are inspired by the town of Oldham in Kentucky, where the chicken burger was apparently first created in the 1800s.”
6. You can support an independent by eating burgers
Independents need all the love and support right now, and you can do that by enjoying a burger at Burgerlicious Middlesbrough. Instead of lining the pockets of the big CEOs, the money you spend locally goes back into the community and to the owner of the business. And who knows how that money could help… with new jobs, their family, supporting other businesses, the list goes on! It sure is a delicious way to support small.

So if you haven’t taken a look at this Middlesbrough spot yet, then take this as your sign. Burgerlicious is open 7 days a week from 12PM-11PM, so you can get your burger fix whenever you need it – ideal for a quick lunch or to grab a bite to eat before hitting the town.
