The Dating Club Teesside at The Nuthatch – Wed 4 – Dating Nights return to The Nuthatch this February, hosted here and run by The Dating Club Teesside. These friendly speed dating evenings are designed to be relaxed and enjoyable, with time to properly chat, a welcoming host, and a cocktail included with your ticket.
Romantic Reads: Books To Fall In Love With at Chapters & Chai – Sat 7 – Join us at Chapters & Chai. 42 High Street, Stockton-on-Tees on Saturday 7th February from 12–3pm for an afternoon celebrating romance books and wonderful authors.
Teesside Comic Con at Teesside Uni SU – Sun 8 – Teesside Comic Con is a relaxed, single-day pop culture event with traders, gaming, cosplay, and family-friendly activities. Pay on the door is available from 11am until 4pm. Please note, we take cash only on the door. Pay on the door is £10 (under 16s £5).
In Conversation With H.F. Askwith at DRAKE The Bookshop – Mon 9 – Join us as we celebrate the release of YA gothic romantasy Half a Dark Heart with author H.F. Askwith. This event is chaired by Hazel Atkinson, author of The Extraordinary History of Witches, who will also sign books during the event.
Koze Conversations with Dr Jamie Cunningham (Founder and Wellbeing Lead) – Thurs 12 – An interactive conversation on emotional intelligence and resilience. For Chapter Three of KŌZĒ Conversations, we’re delighted to be joined by Dr Jamie Cunningham, Founder and Wellbeing Lead at 0282. Valentine’s Kids Disco at Darlington Market – Sun 15 – Our Valentine’s Kids’ Disco is BACK! After the epic Christmas and NYE discos, we’re bringing the fun again with non-stop disco tunes, games and prizes, and plenty of love (and glitter!) for the little ones.
Hartlepool Marina Half Term Fun Fair – Thurs 19 Feb to Sun 1 Mar – Murphy’s & Coopers Funfairs return with a brilliant half term fair at Hartlepool Marina, packed with rides, lights, and family fun for all ages. Open daily from 1-8pm (Thursday 19th and Friday 20th only: 5:30-8pm) and £1 entry fee.
Darlington Restaurant Week – Fri 20 to Fri 27 – If you’re after something delicious to do, why not get a slice of the action at Darlington Restaurant Week? This biannual event is on from Friday 20 to Friday 27 February, giving you the opportunity to explore Darlington through your tastebuds.
Chinese New Year in Darlington town centre and Hopetown Darlington – Sat 21 – Darlington are celebrating the Chinese New Year with free family activities. Come down to the town centre between 11am and 3pm for a special trail and craft activities. There’s also a day of activities on at Hopetown Darlington too!
February Half Term Activities at Ormesby Hall – Sat 21 Feb to Sun 1 Mar – Let imaginations soar during half term at Ormesby Hall! Exploring an Alice in Wonderland inspired trail throughout the house, garden and stables, children will be able to get lost in a world of books during February half-term. Can you find the characters from Alice in Wonderland and complete the activities along the way? From reading a story together in the library to practicing drawing skills in the dining room, there’s something for all the family this February half term.

Circus Spectacular at Middlesbrough Theatre – Sat 14 – The circus is coming to town! Featuring international circus acts, amazing magic and lots of laughs. Our top-class artistes will not only bring skill and suspense during their acts, they will also be participating in production numbers and comedy to make one truly magical experience!
Peppa Pig’s Big Family Show at Darlington Hippodrome – Sat 14 and Sun 15 – Peppa Pig and friends are back in their brand new live stage show! With a new arrival on the way, the whole family are busy getting ready. Boro Is Curious at Middlesbrough Town Hall – Thurs 19 – Join Curious Arts for an evening of live performance celebrating LGBTQIA+ culture and creativity! Enjoy a show packed with a vibrant mix of cabaret, comedy, art, and drag, showcasing some of the most exciting and boundary-pushing artists in the region.
Matt Reed: Come In and Get Your Tea at ARC Stockton – Fri 20 – Join us for Matt Reed’s Come In and Get Your Tea, a live, chatty cookery show where professional chefs team up with local, familiar faces to recreate their favourite (or not so favourite) childhood teas.
Decade Day Disco at KU Stockton – Sat 21 – Decades is taking over KU and The Social Room and turning back the clocks to celebrate the 70s, 80s and, 90s in style with 3 dedicated rooms of DJ’s, performers and dancers.
Boro Sounds 2026 at Middlesbrough Town Hall – Wed 25 – Last year, we hosted “Boro Sounds”, bringing together some truly incredible bands from across Teesside to battle it out for the title of Middlesbrough’s best band. The energy was electric, the talent unforgettable, and the competition fierce. This year, we’re back — bigger, bolder, and better than ever. Expect a full evening of music for every taste, from exciting new up-and-coming talent to your favourite local bands, all taking to the stage as they compete for this year’s Best Band title.
The Littlest Yak at the Princess Alexandra Auditorium – Thurs 26 – Gertie is great at being THE LITTLEST YAK, with the CURLIEST, WHIRLIEST wool and the GRIPPIEST of hooves for clip-clopping up cliffs. Only, Gertie doesn’t want to be the littlest. She’s in a rush to grow up and be just like THE BIG YAKS. But what if there are some things that only a GERTIE can do?
K-Pop Live at Darlington Hippodrome – Sat 28 – Step into the dazzling world of K-Pop, where every comeback hits harder, every choreo is next level, and every stage is pure daebak. This isn’t your average concert. It’s a high-energy, full-throttle tribute to the idols, the anthems, and the fandoms that turned a genre into a global movement. From SEVENTEEN, BLACKPINK, and BTS, to the smash-hit film K-Pop: Demon Hunters, it’s a celebration of the visuals, the vocals, and the bias-wrecking moments fans live for.

Crust official launch at Play Middlesbrough – Sat 7 – After a successful trial period over Christmas and January we’ve decided to turn this into a long term collaboration with Crust extending their menu and serving at Play for the long term! To celebrate, we’re throwing a launch day on 7th February, a first chance to try the new menu and £5 Margs!
The Ultimate Girl Dinner at The Truffled Hog – Fri 13 – Galentine’s plans? Sorted! Friday 13th February at 7pm, grab your besties for a night all about the magic of girlhood! Valentine’s at Koze Saltburn – Fri 13 to Sun 15 – Valentine’s the KŌZĒ way! Your ticket includes grazing for two people, including raclette, a wine flight each (equivalent to 3 small glasses of wine per person) and petit fours for two people.
Valentine’s Murder Mystery at R&R Bistro – Sat 14 – Our first murder mystery of 2026 is a Valentine’s theme! Join us at R & R Bistro on 14th Feb for a date with death. Tickets are £45pp including 3 course meal.
Sit & Sip at The Cheese & Wine Shop – Fri 20 and Sat 21 – Sit & Sip is back for February. For £30pp, you get to try three cheese paired with accompaniments such as olives, meats, chutneys, crackers and bread along with three glasses of wine.
At the museum
Hopetown Darlington Heritage Weekend – Sat 7 and Sun 8 – The theme for February is Homegrown Heritage. Discover the proud history of Darlington’s locomotive building past. Find out where the locomotives across our site were built, how and why they were built, and learn about the ongoing efforts to preserve them. View the UK’s newest locomotive under construction and find out all about Tornado which was built right here in Darlington and launched in 2008.
Becoming La Voix exhibition at Preston Park Museum – Fri 20 Feb to Sun 28 Jun – Preston Park Museum is proud to present ‘Becoming La Voix’, a spectacular new exhibition celebrating the extraordinary career of internationally acclaimed performer La Voix, one of Stockton-on-Tees’ most successful and beloved entertainers. Opening Friday 20 February, the exhibition shines a spotlight on the singer, performer and all-round showstopper whose unmistakable style, sharp wit and powerhouse vocals have captivated audiences across the UK and around the world. Visitors are invited to step behind the curtain and discover a treasure trove of iconic costumes, glittering accessories, photographs and personal memorabilia, all generously loaned by La Voix herself.
Meet and Greet with La Voix at Preston Park Museum – Fri 20 Feb – Come along to meet La Voix in person before being among the very first to explore the brand-new exhibition celebrating her incredible career and iconic style. La Voix can’t wait to meet you! She’ll do her very best to say hello to as many visitors as possible, but please be aware that we might not be able to guarantee a meet and greet for everyone – we recommend arriving early. You’ll need a valid day or annual Museum Pass to enter the museum and attend the meet and greet.
Pirate Play at Kirkleatham Museum – Tues 24 Feb to Sun 1 Mar – There’s so many things to do for families at Kirkleatham Museum and Grounds this February half term, and amongst it all is an event programme jam-packed with pirate themed fun! There’ll be crafts, an adventure trail, play sessions and a pirate show!
Middlesbrough Reimagined at Dorman Musuem – until end of Mar – Middlesbrough Reimagined is a major new exhibition at the Dorman Museum that runs to the end of March 2026 and features work of more than 100 participants who have researched, designed and built a future of Middlesbrough entirely out of old cardboard.
Craft workshops
Succulent Terrarium Workshop at Bloom Cottage, Hurworth – Sun 8 – Bloom Cottage will be welcoming Sharon, “Queen of Green” for an informative, hands on workshop all about house plants and making terrariums, so why not come beat the January Blues or buy someone a gift of a few hours of urban jungle indulgence?
Galentine’s Paint-a-Long at Creative Village CIC – Thurs 12 – Who doesn’t need a cool painting to hang in their home that will remind you of a great night spent with your girls? Join us to paint-a-long creating your own matchbox painted canvas. Perfect for your home or a gift for a friend. This workshop is super relaxed, come with a friend or family member or come on your own and meet new like-minded people.
Wax Melt Workshop at From Loft To Loved – Thurs 12 – Discover the art of fragrance blending in our wax melt workshop at From Loft to Loved. Designed for all skill levels, this hands-on session guides you through the process of creating your own soy wax melts. You’ll explore a wide range of fragrances, botanicals, colours and glitters to design wax melts that reflect your personal style.
Galentine’s Sip & Paint with Palette & Pop – Sat 14 – A Galentine’s Sip & Paint full of pinks, cherries and bows. Expect fizz, laughs and a relaxed, feel-good evening where you don’t need to be “arty” to create something gorgeous. Come with friends or solo and paint yourself happy!
Silver Ring/Stacking Rings Workshop at Creative Village CIC – Wed 18 – In this workshop you will learn silversmithing techniques including texturing metal, shaping and forming, measuring, soldering, polishing and finishing to make the perfect silver ring(s). You will polish & finish your silver ring(s) in the session and take it home with you the same night.
Kids Journal Making at Once Upon A Dream – Tues 24 – At this workshop, we will be creating our own mini journals! Choose your paper, make your pages, bind everything together and finally decorate however you like. We will have lots and lots of paper craft supplies to hand, so you can really let your imagination run wild with ideas! All materials and tuition will be provided for this workshop and free tea/coffee/juice will be available for adults and children.

The Music Quiz at The Loft Stockton – Thurs 5 – Does anybody really know what time it is? Why do fools fall in love? What does the fox say? All perfectly valid music questions, but not ones you’ll get at The Loft’s monthly music quiz. Expect questions on chart hits (past and present), artists and bands, music mashups and funny trivia.
Rom Com Movies Quiz at Play Middlesbrough – Thurs 12 – Test your knowledge on all things rom coms. From classics such as When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle, to modern faves like Crazy Stupid Love and 50 First Dates.
Video Games Quiz at Play Middlesbrough – Thurs 19 – From Tetris to Zelda, CoD to GTA, Lara Croft to Duken Nukem.. the games, the consoles, the controllers, the cheat codes, nothing is out of bounds.
2000s Music Bingo at Play Middlesbrough – Fri 27 – Our all singing, all dancing Music Bingo takes you on a trip down memory lane to the Noughties.
National days
LGBTQ+ History Month – throughout Feb – make some time to read up on LGBTQ+ history and learn about the importance of it, and how it plays a part in the modern day. Support local LGBTQ+ businesses.
National Pizza Day – Mon 9 – find my fave places for a pizza in Teesside here!
Valentine’s Day – Sat 14 – V Day is on a weekend this year, so you’ve got no excuse to not organise a fun date day or evening!
Random Acts of Kindness Day – Tues 17 – do a handful of small acts of kindness, either for someone you know or a stranger. An easy one is to compliment someone!
Pancake Day – Tues 17 – take a look at my top places for pancakes in Teesside.
Real Bread Week – Sat 21 – indulge in some bread from a local bakery. Some of my faves include Koselig, Number Eight Bakehouse and Bakerman.
