6 Restaurants To Try In Norton, Stockton-On-Tees

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times – Norton is an up and coming Teesside spot. Set back from bustling Stockton-On-Tees, it’s quaint and quiet, complete with a duckpond and its own little high street. But also has oodles of independent eateries that are waiting to be discovered! So for this quick blog post, I wanted to share my top six spots that you need to try!

Cafe Lilli

If you’re looking for something that’s slightly more elevated, but still offers the classics, then you’ll love Cafe Lilli. The motto behind Cafe Lilli is ‘good food, good life’, and this just oozes from the dishes that they create. This beautiful continental restaurant in the centre of Norton plates up bistro-style food with just a hint of home comfort, like minute steak, curries, risotto and so much more. It’s sure to give you that warm, fuzzy feeling and provide a fantastic spot for dates or celebration dinners.

Find Cafe Lilli at 83 High Street, Norton, TS20 1AE. Book a table via their website or call 01642 554422, and keep up with them on Instagram.

Elif

If you were to ask me about my favourite restaurants in the whole of Teesside, Elif would 100% be on the list. This gem is truly hidden because you’ll find it underground, below Norton Green. It’s home to authentic Turkish cuisine and absolutely immaculate vibes. The menu is extensive, but I highly recommend getting a mixed hot mezze platter to start because it’s incredible! The spot is really great for special occasions and get togethers.

Find Elif at 68a The Green, Norton, TS20 1DT. Book a table via their website and keep up with them on Instagram.

Sunday

If you’re looking for breakfast or brunch, look no further than Sunday on Leven Road. This spot has made a huge name for itself in the North East, thanks to their incredible matchas and pancakes. Their menu has a fab mix of sweet and savoury, and it’s completely vegan-friendly. Think sourdough toasts, smoothie bowls, loaded oats and the famous pancakes. Every day is Sunday here!

Find Sunday at 7 Leven Road, Norton, TS20 1BQ. No booking system, but keep up with them on Instagram.

Crust

Crust is a total hidden gem, tucked away on the lovely Ridley Mews. They’re open every day for pizza sandwiches over lunch time and the pizza kitchen is open from Thursday to Sunday for evening pizzas. They’re one of our top favourites thanks to their Neapolitan style of thin base and super squidgy crusts (perfect for dipping). They’re one of our lunch time regulars, but going on an evening is gorgeous, so I recommend if you’re fancying pizza for tea.

Find Crust at 3 Ridley Mews, Norton, TS20 1DW. Book a table for their pizza kitchen here and keep up with them on Instagram or Facebook.

Jolsha

Jolsha offers Indian and Bangladeshi dining that’s beyond the ordinary. Their menu is absolutely packed with authentic dishes and curries for all tastes, from the creamy korma all the way through to the super spicy Vindaloo. There’s a great mix to suit everyone, so it’s ideal if you’re heading out for a family meal or a date night.

Find Jolsha at 7 Harland Place, Norton, TS20 1AL. Book a table via their website and keep with them on Facebook.

The Tulip Lounge

The Tulip Lounge is one of the newest places to eat in Norton and it’s made waves since it opened its doors. This place is open for breakfast, brunch and lunch, and the menu is absolutely massive. It’ll take a good few visits to try it all! There’s so many incredible dishes to try, like your classic breakfast options to Turkish-inspired dishes. There’s also a cake counter and a brilliant coffee menu, so it’s a great one for a cuppa and sweet treat too.

Find The Tulip Lounge at 12 Harland Place, Norton, TS20 1AL. No booking system, but keep up with them on Instagram or Facebook.

So who’s ready to eat their way around Norton? I know I sure am! Writing this post has made me super hungry, so I’ll definitely be getting myself booked into one of these gorgeous spots soon.
